You Make Difference

You have the power to make a difference. This power comes from Jesus Christ Himself, as He has called you into His family, as He has accepted you, as He has saved you, as He cleans you, He also sends you out into the world, to make a positive difference. He says Go.
When the electricity goes out in the middle of the night, a flashlight is such a blessing. Many agree that the lights have gone out in America, it is a very dark time. You are the blessing, you are the flashlight for the world to see. (Matthew 5:14) Today, right after you read this you can encourage someone, you can send someone a Bible verse, you can do a good deed on the way home. You can witness to the next person you meet, you can cook food and spontaneously surprise someone with it, you have the ability to help someone with a chore. How wonderful an opportunity it is to be able to make a difference for Christ today.
What happens if we pick up this challenge? What happens if I decide to do good today? What happens if I decide that I will not only do good today but that it will be a continual part of my life? Fruit will spring up, it will multiply, it will fill your soul.
Out there in this world, right now, today, at this moment, there are those who have no hope whatsoever. These are not those you might expect, they are not in the foreign countries of the world, no they are here at home, in our cities, and in our neighborhoods. Many are trapped by the sum total of previously awful decisions and are simply waiting to be destroyed. Some are hopelessly lost to drugs and alcohol, some have lost faith in their families, many have lost faith in the government, how many have lost faith in society at large. As they wonder about in darkness, without answers, knowing only that everything is bitter and cold they are ripe for good to make an impact upon them. One word of cheer, one smiling face, one kind unmerited act towards them could open the door to their minds and hearts. If we will do as Jesus did and go about doing good for all men and proclaim the truth in spite of all who say contrary, we will shine in dark places. Turn on your flashlight.
