Misunderstanding Justice

William Boyette is loose right at this very moment, and he is out killing people. According to msn.com he has murdered at least three people in recent days and is still at large. But this should not surprise us, here in the U.S. we have captured him before and then let him go. We have arrested him, and let him go. We have arrested him after that, and let him go. We have proof that he has threatened to kill numerous times, and we have let him go. We have locked him up for drug trafficking, grand theft, kidnapping, battery, armed robbery, resisting arrest, stabbing someone, etc... and each time we have let him go.
Proverbs 28:5 states quite boldly, “evil men do not understand justice.” This is not talking about William Boyette, it is talking more of our justice system. Can any of them not tell when a person is a threat to society? Can no judge, or lawyer, or law enforcement officer stop such madness? If our hands are tied it is because we have established a justice system totally devoid of the truth. Time for the church, for Christian citizens to stand up for appropriate justice before times like this.
It is time for Christians to engage their culture; if we are to be the salt of the earth, if we are to preserve our civil society we must act. We can not sit back and let “evil me” dictate the justice system for our country. Why do we not go back and hold the judges responsible who gave these men “too light a sentence?” Why not go back and hold the lawyers responsible who helped them get out of jail repeatedly? Why not go to the parole officers and counselors that gave these men a thumbs up and hold them responsible for letting such men go into our society?
If that course of action does not suit you, maybe you think it too controversial, there is a more controversial way to go about it. Why not begin to witness to the judges of our court systems? Why don't we begin to witness to the lawyers in the law offices? Why not don't we go out and witness to the parole officers and counselors? Either way, we as Christians must act to preserve our culture. Who are they letting out today that is going to affect our culture tomorrow?
